The Business
Built on the shore of Lake Michigan, Osprey is a community focused restaurant made to feed people who prefer or must have a pescatarian diet. When the founder was restricted to this type of diet medically her husband and main chef dedicated his time to learning to cook fish in many ways to keep meals together interesting. Learning that this diet is one many have yet isn't easy to accommodate she chose to help other like her by opening a beautiful restaurant with an amazing view with a dedication towards people and ethical care for fish populations.
The Brand
For the brand we wanted bright and ship-like. Our inspiration was taken from the sea and a style that feels like a classic steam boat that delivered up and down rivers. We added a simple boat on the waves for fishing and a sense of serenity. And of course we have our osprey as the main illustrated logo along with some fish as complimentary illustrations! Using a line art style we created clouds and stamp lines that both contrast with the main illustration style and bring it all together by making a strong background that doesn’t take away from the main focus and matches our secondary font.
